FIUGGI TERME (FR)

How to get to Fiuggi independently by AC Milan Soccer Camp:

 

By car - Highway A1 Rome-Naples (Km. 37 from Rome), exit "Anagni-Fiuggi" and travel along the Via Anticolana non toll motorway for 18 Km, direction Fiuggi. 1h30 minutes.

 

Airport – Both Fiumicino and Ciampino airports are in Rome and connected by minibus and trains to Roma Termini Rail station. From here both coaches and trains (hourly) get to Fiuggi directly or via Anagni. If via Anagni there will be a bus connecting at Anagni- Station to Fiuggi. 1h50 minutes

Also Naples Airport (Capodichino) followed by both coaches or train to Anagni Railstation – 2h50 minutes.

 

Train - The rail service from Rome Termini run every hours and a arrives into Anagni-Fiuggi rail station there is a coach service to Fiuggi. 1h30 minutes

FIUGGI

Jutting out from the hills at the foot of the Ernici mountains south of Rome is the enchanting medieval town of Fiuggi.

It gained early renown in the 1300s as a spa town, when Pope Bonifacio VIII claimed that he was cured of kidney stones after visiting the mineral waters that gushed from Fiuggi's spring.
Two centuries later, after going to Fiuggi, Michelangelo was said to have been relieved of what he called "the only kind of stone I couldn't love".

Shortly afterwards, the miraculous acqua di Fiuggi was being bottled and sent to all of Europe's royalty. Today, its oligomineral waters are known to cure renal calculosis, gout, and urinary tract infections.

Fiuggi is a small town only 59 KM south of Rome. The resort is also renown for its lavish gardens and unspoiled woods and countryside.

The hotels, restaurants, shops and other tourist facilities are also prepared to welcome thousands of visitors who choose the resort for sport competitions, preparations and trainings but also tranquillity, vicinity to Rome and cultural activities.

 

Fiuggi’s sporting facilities listed below are located only 5 minute driving from the city centre:

Football/Rugby field including athletics track, stand for the audience, dressing rooms and additional spaces. 

 

Olimpic Swimming pool

Swimming pool 50x20,5mt. approved by F.I.N. (Federazione Italiana Nuoto) with diving-board, dressing rooms, stand for the audience, solarium, bar terrace.

Also available is an indoor 40x20mt hall, synthetic floor suitable for Basket Ball, Volley, Tennis and extra activities. This venue is provided with dressing rooms, heating and lighting system.

 

Near the Sporting Centre there is a beautiful Riding Centre.

There are three hectares of open land equipped with riding ground, stables and changing rooms, to house a riding school and important events at international level.

 

Fiuggi Golf Club was founded in 1928, thus becoming one of the oldest golf course in Italy.

Fiuggi Golf Club is set on a beautiful hilly, and challenging, course. It is an 18-hole, par 70 course, 6,233 metres long. From various points during the game the player is able to take in breathtaking panoramic views of the Italian countryside, from Campocatino Mountains to Lake Canterno, from Fumone, nestled on top of the mountain to the historical city of Fiuggi.

 The Club has all the necessary facilities such as driving range, competent professional staff for individual or group lessons. Lounge, Bar and Restaurant,  Pro-Shop, Swimming Pool, 1 Tennis Court, changing rooms and club and trolley hiring.

For those who love heights, in just half an hour by car you can reach the peaks of Campo Catino, Campo Staffi and not much further away there is Monte Livata.

These stations offer skiers excellent slopes for descent and cross-country skiing, ski-lifts and skiing schools,

The whole Ciociaria region is a real paradise for keen walkers: by following the trekking routes you can find wild and unkown little spots, small walled towns, plateaus and splendid karst landscapes.

Fiuggi offers folkloric entertainment and exquisite cuisine typical from this region called Ciociaria. Handmade copper and wooded objects are also renowned as part of art craft ship from Fiuggi. The area produces a superb wine called Cesanese del Piglio which is starting to become known worldwide.

 

Fiuggi is situated in the middle of the Italian Peninsula, between Rome and Naples and therefore its locations is of easy access for other Italian cities like Rome, Naples, Florence, Venice and Milan.
